Ms. Dema can directly relate to what it is like being an international student. She comes from the small kingdom of Bhutan, nestled in the Himalayas, and knows how stressful all of the paperwork can sometimes be. But she says it is all worth it because she loves living on the island and after a few years still marvels at seeing the ocean.
Her job is to deal with external groups that work with the school. That includes international exchanges, immigration, facility rentals and external tutors. It’s a very busy and constantly changing job but Ms. Dema likes the variety. She also likes how she constantly has something on the go. But, the best part of the job is working directly with the international girls on matters like immigration papers or homestays because she finds she can always relate to them.
Why SMS? "Because of the personal attention that each girl gets. The school really focuses on developing each girl as a whole person."
